Recently, Riri G Trivedi joined this podcast and the summary (Written by Raj Shamani) is reproduced below.

“One of the biggest contributors to suicide is emotional neglect and emotional abuse,” said Riri G Trivedi on our podcast.

She is a PhD scholar in childhood trauma & mental health, co-founder of Wellness Space and an Inner child therapy trainer and Parenting coach.

This episode felt like a deep dive into understanding the impact of our childhood on our behaviour and choices.

Here are my top 5 takeaways:
⤍ 0-3 years of age is the major programming age for kids. How they are treated and their life experiences shape their mental and emotional health to a great extent.

⤍ Emotional abuse/neglect like nagging, criticism, threatening, withholding love, and blaming are great contributors to suicidal behavior in people.

⤍ Chronic stress leads to higher chances of people developing autoimmune diseases like Arthritis, Lupus, and even cancer.

⤍ Couples with healthy relationships have reasonable expectations, trust each other, share some hobbies or purpose in common, communicate honestly, and give each other space.

⤍ Kids whose parents are disconnected from them often develop anxiety, loneliness, self-doubt, and a lack of confidence.

That’s all I had for you today!
