At Society for Energy & Emotions, Wellness Space, we have been working with complex trauma (primarily driven by repeated childhood trauma exposure where the individual can't escape the situation). The journey, since 2019, initially studied the prevalence of childhood trauma (ACE: Adverse Childhood Experiences) in individuals assessed with PTSD. We had used PCL-C assessment tool then, unfortunately, that was not sufficient. Subsequently, based on extensive research we identified ICD-11 based assessment of ITQ (International Trauma Questionnaire) which provided very clear, concise assessment. Predicting Adverse Childhood Experiences via Machine Learning Ensembles Recently, we collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi team to understand if predicting exposure to childhood trauma (Adverse Childhood Experiences-ACEs) is possible without directly asking questions about specific ACEs. We found that by understanding specific internalization experiences (such as well-being, depression and anxiety, sleep quality) and externalizing behaviours (such as suicide behaviour, ability to focus, history of self-harm, etc.), it is possible to understand if the individual has been exposed to low or high ACE level.
