Over the past few years, as a mentor at Wellness Space in Ahmedabad, Dr Ramani has focused made significant contributions to the research in India on childhood trauma (Adverse Childhood Experiences or ACEs) and long-term implications on adult mental health. She has contributed to studies examining how ACEs affect adult mental health, including depression, anxiety, and internalizing symptoms. Her notable work includes a large study on childhood emotional abuse based on hundreds of personal interviews, highlighting its deep and long-lasting psychological impact. She has also co-authored research demonstrating the effectiveness of therapies such as Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) and Inner Child Integration Therapy in reducing trauma-related symptoms. Overall, her work bridges the gap in conceptual and practical aspects of these concepts in the Indian context.
